Our unit is part of the GDR ChasséoLab n°3766 of the INstitut Ecologie et Environnement du CNRS (http://chasseolab.huma-num.fr) created for 4 years (2016-2020).

This GDR is a network of 16 laboratories associating 10 institutions (CNRS; INRAP; Ministry of Culture; Universities of Aix-Marseille, Lyon 2, Montpellier 2 and 3, Nice-Sophia-Antipolis, Toulouse 2; and the Toulouse-Métropole community), as well as six Private Operators of Preventive Archaeology.

Its objective is twofold: on the one hand, to carry out an assessment of the southern Chassean (Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur, Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes, Occitania) and on the other hand, to structure future research in the light of this assessment. All the aspects of the southern Chassean are taken into consideration by taking into account as many parameters as possible and implementing analysis grids in all studied areas. This interregional, interinstitutional and interdisciplinary network aims to provide a response to the compartmentalisation of research, which has emerged, in particular, as a result of the multiplication of archaeological players. This space for discussion and exchange is organised into four Workshops, and should facilitate cross referencing data, as well as the publication of articles on key themes and a collective work.
